Accessibility statement

This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It is built for children, families, and educators, so it should work on a phone, with a keyboard, and with a screen reader.

What we have done

  • Semantic landmarks and one clear heading structure per page.
  • A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element.
  • Keyboard access throughout, including the mobile menu, which announces whether it is expanded.
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
  • Text and interface colors checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Meaningful alt text on images; decorative artwork is hidden from screen readers.
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences.
  • No autoplaying audio or video, and no information conveyed by color alone.
  • Storybook PDFs are always available as a plain download link, not only through an embedded viewer.

Known limitations

  • Storybooks are published as PDFs produced during workshop sessions. These are image-based and are not screen-reader accessible. If you need a book in another format, please ask.
